While attempting to run up the biggest hill near my house, I explain two specific items I always wear when I run; my whistle and my cross. While I often joke that it's my rape whistle, it isn't. It's because a whistle works better in emergencies than just yelling. The cross is a Celtic cross that's more a good luck charm than anything.
