No change in status yet, but I'm still waiting for Yvonne to call in the next half hour or so after she's done at the doctor's this morning. I know she's ready to have the baby, but I think she'll have to wait a few more days. Not that I want her to wait, but that's just my guess.
As for me, well, I'm still a bit fuzzy headed from my Sudafed, but I'm well enough today to come to work and spread my germs. The only way to truly cure yourself of any illness is to pass it to someone else.
In other news, I put down Scott Lynch's The Lies Of Locke Lamora to re-read The Name Of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. Locke was okay and I haven't entirely given up on it, but it just wasn't progressing as fast as I'd like. Not as slow as A Game Of Thrones, but slow enough to make me want to stop reading. So I'm back to reading about Kvothe. And I'm likely setting another new record with this book as I'm re-reading it so soon after I've finished reading it. I don't re-read often, but this book speaks to me (and not just because I'm taking Sudafed either).
Well, still no word from Yvonne, so I'm going to close this post and go back to catching up on work and eagerly awaiting my two toys that still haven't arrived yet - dammit, I want them NOW!

I don't have much to say about babies, but I can talk about books.
Haven't read either of these two books here, but both are on my mental to-buy-list. I've heard only great things about them both, but The Name of the Wind sounds more up my alley then Locke Lamora. I like my epic fantasy...well, epic and a bit cliched. A boy going to a school for magic is a-okay with me. Maybe you'll post about the book (no spoilers) sometime?
Oh, I've already started a more "detailed" analysis of the book for this reading. I've posted about it before (just look for the 'Kvothe' tag) with only minor spoilers (stuff you'd likely read on the cover flap).
Anyway, I'll be talking about it more in the future. Keep those peepers peeled people.

On the one hand you obviously adore The Name of the Wind (which I, too, am in love with!)... but then you find The Lies of Locke Lamora (which I love just a little bit more than TNOTW) and A Game of Thrones (which I love more than pretty much everything) slow enough to put down? Crazy talk!

As to Locke and GRRM, well, it could be mood swings, or lack of sleep, but they just didn't strike me as, dare I say, "good enough" to keep reading. But I have nearly finished A Game of Thrones, but it's on a fairly long-term hiatus for the time being. Hard to find time to read at work right now.
