Dude, have you seen Man vs. Wild on Discovery with Bear Grylls? That show is freakin awesome!! If you get a chance to check it out, new episodes air on Fridays at like 9PM. They play reruns every so often as well, jjust go online to look up play times. I think you'll enjoy it.

While Les wouldn't appreciate my comments, Bear is a joke. He goes out into the wild with a camera crew and, in my eyes, pretends to survive. Yes, he's great at entertaining you, but the only thing I've learned from watching him is what NOT to do.
Les on the other hand, he actually goes out into the wild. Alone. He carries his own camera gear. He rarely takes any survival equipment with him other than a multi-tool. That means no water and no food and no help for seven days. He has a sat-phone for emergencies, but where he's at, it takes hours to get help. And on top of it all, he actually teaches you what to do.
I guess I'd have to say Bear is like the Snorks and Les is like the Smurfs. They're similar, but nothing compares to the original.
Oh well, to each their own, I guess. I have my own opinions of Les, but either way, the shows are really cool to watch.
Me, I prefer MacGyver as the ultimate survivor, or is it Gilligan's Island that is the ultimate. Hrmmm, what a debate going on in my head right now.
