Shame on me! I did finish and I did set a new PR. I also came in under 8 hours but didn't make the 7:30 time I was hoping for. I felt awesome about running through all the aid stations. I think I was slowed down at two of them, one because I took on extra stuff and another because I had no help from the volunteers. It easily took 15 minutes off my time. I kept a great pace overall but slowed way down after mile 20, which is where I started to bonk. Taking on calories was very hard and anything even remotely like a gel made me want to gag. I should have eaten sooner and more often but neglected to do so.Neil Richardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13023957663164567385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14005586.post-53689456537853028502011-08-27T01:09:48.136-04:002011-08-27T01:09:48.136-04:00Did you make any of your goals? Packing light, that's a new one on me. I don't know how to do that. I'm so fearful of being without whatever . . . an antihistamine for a wasp sting, water & calories in case i get lost, extra clothing, in case it snows. LOL. I have attempted 2 ultras, finished 1. I'm hoping to go for another before the yearend. Best of luck to you!Laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05538884619777387595noreply@blogger.com
